Dr Daniel Duah

Dr. Daniel Duah is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Planning, Design, and Construction from Michigan State University, USA, an MSc in Construction Management and Economics from the University of Greenwich, London, U.K., and Post Graduate and Bachelor of Science degrees both in Architecture from KNUST. He obtained his Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates from Pope John Secondary School in Koforidua.

Daniel has been involved in examinations at KNUST since 2008. He was the Examinations Officer for the Department of Architecture, the Assistant Examinations Officer for the Faculty of Art and Built Environment and currently the Assistant Examinations Officer for the College of Art and Built Environment. He is currently the Chair of the Quality Assurance Sub Committee of the College of Art and Built Environment under which there are three Faculties, ten academic departments, and two research centers. He is also the Coordinator of Undergraduate Programmes at the Department of Architecture.

Daniel’s professional and academic interests are: Sustainable, Universal and Smart Environment Planning, Design, and Construction; and Economic Design and Construction. He was awarded a Fulbright Junior Staff Development Scholarship, worth over $200,000.00, for his PhD studies in 2010. He has made presentations at many national and international forums and is currently supervising 4 PhD Candidates in the Departments of Architecture and Construction Technology and Management at KNUST.He has supervised over 100 student design theses and dissertations at the graduate and undergraduate levels at KNUST and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed journals, conference, book chapter and workshop publications.

As an Architect and Construction Project Management Consultant, he is a member of the Council of the Ghana Institute of Architects. Daniel’s experiences, which spans over a decade, are in academia and industry including residential, religious, commercial, corporate, and sport planning, design, and construction
